As I posted yesterday, Noah had his 2 month checkup today and his first round of immunizations.
His stats astonished me...drum roll please...
Weight: 15.5 lbs
Height: 25.5 inches
Needless to say, he's not hurting for food. You would think with the way he wails when he is hungry that we never feed him. I'll remind him of this the next time he feels I'm not feeding him fast enough.
Sunday and Monday were test my patience days. Notice the lack of posting in the past 48 hours. It's like Noah decided that he needed to see how thin he could wear me just because he knows he's been an angel baby since he was born. But alas! Tuesday morning came upon us and he was back to his regular old self again. He slept until 5 a.m. and was as happy as baby in utero.
Yesterday morning I double checked my calendar to confirm the time for Noah's appointment today, but all I had written was: Noah's 2 month check-up. What was I thinking?? I called is pediatrician's office, but because it was a holiday here in Canada, all I got was an answering service who couldn't tell me anything. What's the point of an answering service that can't answer your question?
What's a mom to do? Wake up early and be ready for 9:15 a.m. that's what she does.
I waited until the last possible minute to wake up Noah. I had only planned on giving him enough time to get changed, washed down with a cloth, and eat.
Imagine my surpise (and Noah's) when he peed all over his face, in his eyes, all over his chest and all over the chair I was changing him on. I really should have dunked him in the tub, but I didn't know if I had time. After cleaning him with a wash cloth and then faking it by covering him in lavendar baby lotion to smell like a fresh clean baby, we were off to the pediatrician's office in the pouring rain.
I get there, race in, and the receptionist says, "Oh, your appointment isn't until 1:00. I'd let you go in now, but the doctor isn't even in yet," she laughed.
I go back home, let my baby nap, wake him up again and feed him and off we went once more in the pouring rain for his REAL appointment.
He was such a trooper! Smiling at the student doctor, smiling at me, kicking his legs all over the doctor's table and squealing in delight. Perhaps all doctors go on about how cute the baby is, but I'd like to think I was the only one it ever happened to. A mother can dream.
He continued smiling away at them, and then his pediatrician apologized to Noah for what he was about to do, and then as I held his little hands, the student doctor and his pediatrician stuck him simultaneously in each leg. Noah stopped for a minute, looked at them in shock, and then let out a wail.
Poor kid.
He calmed down rather quickly and has been so sleepy since he's been home. I can't say I mind the sleepy too much. It's a nice little break--however, I've checked on him 3 times now since starting this post.
**Edit**
I did not know my child could cry that hard and that loud. It took me forever to calm him down. I was asking my sister and my friend if it was normal for a baby to cry that hard. My sister asked what I had given him for pain, and I said, "Baby Tempra," and she asked me what it was. As I read the bottle to her, I saw that it is to be adminstered every 4 hours, but because the doctor told me every 6 hours, I had followed that. My poor baby was in PAIN!! I feel horrible. I cried the whole hour with him because I felt so bad for him. Being a mom is rough.
I hate needle day.

AWWWWW...I love him sleeping! I ALSO love when little boys surprise you and themselves with a pee shower. There is nothing better then adorning yourself with a fresh splash of pee-pee for your day out.
Hahaha...well I had worse than a pee shower. I won't go into graphic detail but I just so happened to volunteer to babysit my sweet little Godson on a night he was having tummyaches...Ughhh...YUCKY! lol
I always hated needle day too. The doctor told me to give them tylenol before they had the needle so it wouldn't be so bad. It did seem to help.
I must say that I've never been peed on...well at least not in the face...but then again I only have girls. LOL
Btw, I checked the girl's baby book to see how big they were at 2 months. Noah definitely has them beat. They were 6 months old before they were his size. He must be starting to grow out of all his clothes. He's such a cutie. :-)
Awww what a trooper. I used to leave feeling so proud of Matthew. Being so small and being so brave with every little poke. Nothing brings you to your knees like think you little one is hurting.
