Responsible Blogging

Hi Moms!

I just wanted to ensure that there is no misunderstanding with my previous post.

I was trying to drive home the point that we should NOT be afraid to ask questions. I completely and totally believe that vaccinations have a purpose and are the best form of protection for our little ones.

I have vaccinated Noah and will continue to do so, but I will be asking more questions--such as whether or not the vaccinations my baby will receive are mercury free. I was mainly concerned with the MMR that was in debate that is given at the one year mark.

I want to encourage each and everyone of you to do your research and to talk with your doctors. I am not an expert, nor do I claim to be one! I'm just a mom like you wanting to give my child the best possible life.

A friend of mine from Nova Scotia contracted mumps a few weeks ago, so the risk of contracting one of these rare viruses is still a possibility.

I just wanted to clarify that I am NOT saying that people should not vaccinate their children. Please discuss any concerns you have with medical experts!

If you ask, your doctor can give you the manufacturers information and the contents of the shot your baby will get. Mine did anyway. All I had to do was ask.

Sandy, you couldn't be more right about being more aware. I think when it comes to our little ones, you can't be informed enough.
